She whimpered as the feelers slipped beneath her leggings, rolling them down as it ran its cold, slimy lips upon her bare skin. Her phone was on the ground, illuminating the area as the creature inspected her. Out of breath, she couldn’t scream, rolling over to see the monster crouching down and extending its feelers along her body. Both girl’s shrieked as they ran from the monster.Ī strong kick from behind sent Cameron onto the ground. The creature’s mouth had no teeth, opening with a slimy noise as it lurched forward. It was bipedal, with olive-green skin and two quivering feelers that sat out from its body. Cameron clicked on her phone’s flashlight to inspect the mid-sized animal. She could see something sitting in the path behind them. “What is that?”Ĭameron paused, staring at the spot until her eyes adjusted. Maybe we should just cut through and head-“ Autumn stopped abruptly. “We’re not going deep into the woods or anything. “Then you’ll have to protect me!” Cameron knew her expression without looking. “What if there’s a bear or something out here?” It seems like it’s just a bunch of twists and turns.”Īutumn was lagging behind as they ascended a small incline. They passed through the sparse forest, never losing sight of the illuminated rooms. They quietly locked their door and set out for a short trek through the woods behind the motel. “Yes, I promise! Don’t you want to work those thick legs after that long ride?” She giggled at the expected scowl, “I’m kidding! I like your big butt!” She spanked her friend playfully as she passed. “That’s not true… and what is there to see?” Autumn gave her a long look and a frustrated sigh. “It’s Canada, no one is dangerous up here!” “Come on, I just want to go for a walk!” She stepped closer, looking low to catch her friend’s view. We shouldn’t do something stupid the first night we’re here.” “I’m tired and we have a big day tomorrow. “So, ready to do something daring?” Cameron asked her roommate as she closed the door.Īutumn opened her luggage, trying to avoid looking at her friend. Nelson felt assured she led Anna upstairs to find their shared room. Everyone promise me!”Īnna nodded, answering for everyone, “we promise.” Once Mrs. “Okay, but the most important thing is not to leave the motel rooms until the morning. “We know, be responsible young adults and don’t do drugs…” Anna smiled. “I will be in room 2 if anyone has any trouble. After a short wait their coach returned with keys. The five girls collected their luggage, making their way to the far end of the building by their designated rooms. “Just grab your things and wait until I get the keys.” “Well, I’ll make sure he gets you first!” She gave a big, toothy grin. “Maybe you will,” Laiken broke in, “then we wouldn’t have to hear you complaining.” The other girls laughed.Ĭameron gave her a sideways glare. “I feel like I might get stabbed in this dive!” We’re here for five days so we need to budget.” She was used to the girl’s blunt comments. “Because all the money is being used when we’re in town. “Why couldn’t we get a nicer place in the actual city?” “We have an exciting day planned for tomorrow! Make sure not to be up late.” She got into the queue, following the line out of the shuttle. “Remember, no one is to leave the motel!” The girls passed by as she spoke. Their coach stood up as the shuttle bus came to a stop.
